it does help having the cross, as you described it, but only on a failure situation... which is good. I wouldn't suggest to modify the original setup, but, once you go crazy and start modifying everything, you have to realize that it doesn't matter to much if you double cross the intake or not, cause probably you will have by that point a 500 plus HP motor, so failure is not an option anymore, cause you will blow it away on a hard run... doesn't matter what setup you use.. at least that is how I see it.
